With IPL hair removal, the hair roots are destroyed so that no more hair can be produced. For this to work, the hair must be treated while it is in the growth phase. Since only approx. 20-40% of the hair (depending on the part of the body) is growing, the treatment must be repeated after approx. 4-5 weeks in order to be able to gradually stop all hair roots.
The reason for this is that only active hair roots have the necessary color pigments, the so-called melanin. Inactive hair roots are transparent. The light can only desolate the hair root if it contains the color pigments.
Depending on the skin and hair type and the body region, several applications are necessary in any case. There is no guaranteed number. In most cases, the hair becomes less active with each treatment, until finally (from about 8-12 treatments) no more hair grows back.
